This hike was on Memorial Day. We hit the snow line at just two miles into the trail which isn't surprising since we had a 500+ inch winter. We kept going after we reached the snow. The settled snow doesn't require snow shoes to walk on top of but it does make it a slippery walk. We didn't go much further after a guy on a snowboard wizzed by us! The temps are well into the 70's and 80's so the snow is melting fast and the creeks and rivers are swollen. I'll be backpacking again in no time!
